CBS Says Sorry to Dockers for Pantsless Deja Vu During Ad Spots – http://bit.ly/aMHrvw

Update – Evidently, Dockers felt like my observations were correct!  There were too many Pants on the Ground – during the #”2010 SuperBowl (#BrandBowl) event.

“For most Super Bowl viewers, the airing of back-to-back commercials featuring men in their skivvies was nothing more than an amusing coincidence, a bit of “Did that just happen? ” deja vu. But for the marketers who paid millions of dollars for the airtime, it wasn’t so funny.”

Did anyone guess that #American Idol’s contestant, Gen. Larry Platt’s original composition, #”Pants on The Ground”, would be foretelling of the the 2010 #?Super Bowl” television advertisements?

Career Builder, Inc.’s,  ”Casual Friday”, and Docker’s ”Men without Pants” , showcased men-a few women?-, well… without clothing from the waist down – expect for boxers and “tighty whities”.    And perhaps it’s just me, but I believe that these things are all metaphors for the nakedness of all the 2010 Super Bowl Advertising.

A Tweet today said, “These commercials reek of VP Marketing fear. #brandbowl”.  I cannot say this any better.

The main themes this year were comedy (feeble) and sex (sorta feeble in this iteration).   From the silly Dorito’s ad’s to screeching chickens – this years Super Bowl’s advertising efforts were indeed – standing with their “pants on the ground”.  Is this the way we help drive the economy out of recession in 2010 – by scaring our pants off?
